A weld nut (10) includes a separate nut (12) and a separate weld plate (14) engaged one with the other to constrain relative axial movement of one with respect to the other. Confronting surfaces along an interface of the nut and weld plate are configured to interfere one with the other and constrain relative rotational movement between the nut and weld plate.
