The present invention relates to the operational control of a Ground Power Unit (GPU) and/or a cable storage unit supplying power to a parked aircraft by provision of a power cable for interconnection of a ground power unit with an aircraft, the power cable having a transmitter positioned at the output end of the power cable for wireless transmission of control signals to the ground power unit.
