METHOD FOR RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY OF POSTOPERATIVE DEFECTS OF BOTTOM OF ANTERIOR CRANIAL FOSSA IN NEUROONCOLOGICAL PATIENTS

A method for the reconstructive surgery of the postoperative defects of the bottom of the anterior cranial fossa in neurooncological patients provides for closure of the large bone defects after resection of tumor. The flap is placed onto the bone remnants of the bottom of anterior cranial fossa such as the roof of the orbit and the site of the basal bone. The posterior duplicature of the flap is generated. For further reinforcement, the polypropylene mesh is placed between the flap and dura mater. Instead of fixation, the long-term nasal tamponade is used for 7-10 days.
