PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically change the radiation pattern direction of the directional antenna of a fixed radio terminal by deciding the radiation pattern direction in accordance with the content of a radiation pattern direction designation signal and controlling a radiation pattern change means in accordance with the direction. SOLUTION: When the antenna 15A of a terminal 15 is to be directed to a new base station 20 with the installation of the new base station 20, a base station 11 receiving a trigger designating an increase processing from a center device 21 transmits an antenna control instruction AI containing antenna coordinate values corresponding to the position of the new base station 20 to the terminal 15. A new antenna 15A coordinate values after change are calculated from the present coordinate values of the position of the antenna 15A in the terminal 15 based on the instruction AI. Then, the antenna 15A is directed to the new base station 20 and the terminal 15 communicates with the new base station 20. When the base station 11 is to be deleted from a radio telemeter system 10, the base station 11 receiving a deletion trigger from the center device 21 directs the antenna 16A of a terminal 16 to the base station 12 before deletion and then deletes the base station 11.
