<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a staircase structure capable of preventing infants from falling through clearances between foot boards and not obstructing a person who goes up stairs or performs cleaning. <P>SOLUTION: A bar-like member 6 is disposed between foot boards 4, 4 vertically adjacent to each other generally parallel to the foot boards 4. One end of the bar-like member 6 is secured to a handrail 5b and the other end is inserted into a wall 2. Therefore, the bar-like member 6 can prevent infants from falling between the foot boards 4, 4.
