PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption and prevent deviation of a defocus quantity from generating by transmitting data for prohibiting projection of an auxiliary light from the lens side to a microcomputer on the body side. SOLUTION: When an appropriate defocus quantity is not obtained by low contrast and the like, it is discriminated whether a lens is a LED auxiliary light allowance lens or a prohibition lens, and in the case of the allowance lens, an auxiliary light is ON. For letting the lens low-contrast-scan, a target drive quantity is set to be the maximum value by a focus lens drive command so as to drive the lens, and distance measuring operation is repeated again. The lens judges whether the auxiliary light is allowed to project toward a subject or not, according to assortment of the lens, and when the light projection is meaningless, data for prohibiting projection of the auxiliary light are transmitted to a microcomputer 10 on the body side. Consequently, useless auxiliary light is not projected, and hence power consumption can be reduced. |
