PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus by which the occurrence of the nonconformity of an image quality at a next image forming time is eliminated because sticking force between formed toner and each member is increased even when the apparatus is left standing at an ordinary stopping time or a stopping time when jamming such as paper jamming is caused. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus by which a toner image is formed on a photoreceptor having electrifying, exposure and developing means in its periphery and the toner image is secondarily transferred to a transfer material from an intermediate transfer body after the toner image is primarily transferred to the intermediate transfer body is provided with a controlling means by which primary transfer voltage or a current thereof is adjusted so as to transfer most of the toner image of an image pattern (a) formed on a non-image area on the photoreceptor to the intermediate transfer body before stopping the image forming apparatus and also the intermediate transfer body is stopped after removing the toner on the intermediate transfer body. |
