PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain casting slag of a thick near net shape with a single roll without the useless consumption of Al in a shortened machining stage by scraping up the melt of Al in a nozzle into the many casting cavities on the outer periphery of a rotated solidifying roll, rapidly cooling the melt with the solidifying roll 2 and discretely taking the formed casting slag out of the casting cavities. SOLUTION: While the solidifying roll 2 provided with the many casting cavities 1 on the outer periphery is rotated, the melt 4 of the aluminum in the nozzle 3 is scraped up into the casting cavities 1 and the melt 4 is rapidly cooled by the solidifying roll 2, by which the casting slag 5 is cast. At this time, the molten metal 4 which is scraped up into the casting cavities 1 and is protruded from the casting cavities 1 is also rapidly cooled to form a sheet 8 of Al, by which the casting slag 5 is cast to a state of connecting and linking the slag together. In such a case, the free solidified surface 6 of the sheet 8 in a semi-solidified state in the casting cavities 1 is pressurized by the molding roll 7 brought into proximity to the outer periphery of the solidifying roll 2 and is thus cleanly finished.
