PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device and electrical appliances at a low cost. SOLUTION: A substrate 11, to be formed with a semiconductor element 12 such as a thin-film transistor and a light-emitting element 16, such as an EL element and a color filter 20 to be attached to this substrate are manufactured in separate manufacturing processes, and thereafter, both of them are attached to each other so as to manufacture a light-emitting device provided with a color filter. The substrate 11 and the color filter 20 are respectively manufactured by using the photolithographic technique, and the yield of the light-emitting device provided with the color filter is improved, and the manufacturing period is shortened by separately manufacturing the both.
