PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the mutual recycling of a housing with another image forming device having different specification from a monochrome image forming device, that is, mainly a color image forming device. SOLUTION: An intermediate transfer body is supported by supporting rolls 36a to 36c, and a toner image formed by a monochrome image forming unit 42 is primarily transferred to the intermediate transfer body at a primary transfer position A, and secondarily transferred to transfer material at a secondary transfer position C. The intermediate transfer body is set so that length L1 from the position A to the position C is shorter than length L2 from the position C to the position A. It is also set so that length L3 from the position A to a 2nd contact position D where it comes into contact with the 2nd supporting roll 36b is longer than length L4 from the position A to a 1st contact position B where it comes into contact with the 1st supporting roll 36a. Since the length L1 is shorter, time taken until a first copy is outputted is shortened.
