PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heartbeat detection electrode capable of being simply attached to any bathtub and making it hard to generate the direct touch with a bathing person. SOLUTION: The heartbeat detection electrode is equipped with the holder member 310 inserted in the electrode attaching hole H formed on the wall surface of the bathtub B to be fixed to the wall surface of the bathtub B with a nut 318 and the columnar electrode body 320 fitted in the holder member 310. A signal wire 343 is secured in the rear end surface of the electrode body 320 with screws through a terminal 342 and a protective cap 330 is fitted to the rear end of the holder member 310 so as to cover the screwed part. The receiving surface 320a of the electrode body 320 fitted in the holder member 310 is positioned in a depressed state with respect to the surface of the flange part 314 of the holder member 310, and the stepped part 313 of the holder member 310 and the notched part 323 of the electrode body 320 are mutually engaged to prevent the rotation and falling-off of the electrode body 320 with respect to the holder member 310.
