PURPOSE: To drive one gear in one direction only by another gear by forming a step on a first tooth surface of every other tooth, and cutting the first tooth surface of the remaining sides away throughout the total length of tooth height. CONSTITUTION: When an ordinary driving gear 27 is rotated in the direction of an arrow 31, the tooth 33 of the gear 27 engaged with the tooth 35 not having a step and cut away throughout the total length of tooth height of another gear 25, and the tooth 37 engaged with the tooth 39 having a step are also normally driven and operated. In the case when the gear 27 is rotated in the opposite direction of the arrow 31, the gear 25 is normally driven. When the gear 25 is defined as driving gear and is rotated in the direction of an arrow 29, the gear 27 is normally driven, but when intending to drive it in the direction of an arrow 41, a step 45 of a tooth 43 collides with the top surface 47 of a tooth 49, and a tooth flank 51 of a tooth 43 is collides with a front edge of the top surface 47, so that the rotation of both gears 25, 27 are locked. whereby one gear can drive the other gear in one direction only. |
