PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lowering preventing device for a loading platform of a dump truck which allows the height of a loading platform to be minimized with respect to a vehicle body, thereby enabling a low ground clearance of the vehicle body. SOLUTION: In a dump truck of which loading platform 2 is adapted to be at least laterally tilted on a vehicle body 1, a safety bar 41 is provided on the vehicle body 1 which supports the loading platform 2 at a predetermined inclination angle, thereby preventing the loading platform 2 from lowering. A base end of the safety bar 41 is supported by a pivot pin 43 so that the safety bar 41 is rotated vertically about the pivot pin 43 and the other end of the safety bar 41 freely engages a engaging member 45 disposed at the underside of the loading platform 2. The safety bar 41 and the engaging member 45 are disposed at off-set positions so that the safety bar 41 does not interfere with the engaging member 45 when the loading platform 2 rests on the vehicle body 1. The pivot pin 43, which is disposed having an angle with respect to the horizontal line, pivotally supports the base end 42 of the safety bar 41. A stopper 5, which restricts pivotal motion of the safety bar 41 at a predetermined pivotal position, is provided with a contacting surface which contacts and supports the bottom surface of the loading platform when the loading platform rests on the vehicle body.
