PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance easy of hand-carrying and prevent degradation in battery performance and the reduction of battery life by providing a connector that is connected to the connector on a battery pack inserting section and supplies power, and an alternating current input connector for connection with an alternating-current power supply cord positioned on the surface opposite to the connector. SOLUTION: An AC adapter has a shape that allows the AC adapter to be inserted into the battery pack inserting section of a portable computer. The AC adapter consists of a second connector 42 that is connected with the connector, formed in the battery pack inserting section of the portable computer and supplies power; a direct current jack 50b that is positioned on the same plane as the second connector 42 is and supplies power from outside the portable computer; and an alternating current input connector 56 that is positioned on the surface opposite to the second connector 42 and is to be connected with an alternating-current power supply cord. Thereby it is possible to use the AC adapter inserted in the battery pack inserting section of a portable computer as it is ease of hand-carrying is enhanced, continuous charging of battery packs is avoided, and degradation in battery performance is prevented. |
