PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analyzer capable of avoiding the stop of analyzing work even if a control board gets out of order, and an analyzing method. SOLUTION: A plurality of operation mechanisms 6, 7 and 10 are operated while individually controlled by the control panels 21-23 provided to the respective operation mechanisms to analyze a specimen. The analyzer includes a plurality of switches 24-29, which connect a plurality of the operation mechanisms and a plurality of the control boards in a freely replaceable manner, and a control part 15 for rewriting the control program of at least one remaining normal control board to an emergent control program containing the content of the control program and the content of the control program of troubled control board in the case where at least one control board gets out of order and instructing a plurality of the switches to change over to operate a plurality of the operation mechanisms by the remaining normal control board.
