PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently study a music history, and also study while retrieving the music history. SOLUTION: This music history information retrieving system comprises an input device, a control part 2, an information database 3 containing speech data 31 on works of music, image data 32 on the works and/or composers, and character data 33 on the works and/or the composers, a display device 5 for receiving retrieved data from the control part 2 and displaying them, and the control part 2 comprises a retrieval request receiving part 21 for receiving a retrieval request from the input device, a retrieval part 22 for storing in an auxiliary storage device 4 the retrieved data obtained by retrieving the information database based on the retrieval request, and a retrieval data transfer part 23 for reading the retrieval data from the auxiliary memory 4 and forwarding the data to the display 5. Thus, this system takes overall information on voice data, image data, etc., in addition to character data and displays them on the display 5.
