1. A method of analyzing cell populations in a blood cell suspension sample, the method comprising:
(a) obtaining first data, wherein the first data are generated by an analysis of a first aliquot of the sample using a fluorescence flow cytometer; (b) analyzing the first data to determine cell populations which are distinguishable from other cell populations as resolved cell populations in the first data, and detecting, using a processor in communication with the fluorescence flow cytometer, at least one unresolved cell population in the first data, wherein the first data includes a cell population of at least one of a first cell type and a second cell type, wherein there is substantial overlap in location of the first cell type and the second cell type in a plot of the first data; (c) obtaining second data, wherein the second data comprises at least one of a cell volume measurement, a cell conductivity measurement, and at least a first light scatter measurement, wherein the second data are generated by interrogating a second aliquot of the sample using a hematological particle analyzer; (d) analyzing the second data using the processor, in communication with the hematological particle analyzer, to determine a cell type present in the sample based on a signature pattern in a plot of the second data, wherein the determined cell type is one of the first cell type and the second cell type; and (e) enumerating the determined cell type from step (d) in the sample based on the first data, wherein the determined cell type cannot be accurately enumerated with flow cytometry data or hematology data alone. |
