PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress flickering and to simultaneously enable display of bright images by maintaining electric discharge to the images of a second group in an addressing section of a first group in a driving method for displaying the one image composed of the first and second groups. SOLUTION: The electric discharge to the image of the second group is maintained in the addressing section of the first group in the driving method for the AC PDP which displays the one image composed of the first and second groups. Namely, the discharges of all even number Y electrodes Y2, Y4,..., Y2N are maintained simultaneously addressing the first Y electrode Y1 in the addressing section of the odd number Y electrode Y2N-1, following which the third electrode Y3 is addressed and simultaneously the discharges of all the even number Y electrodes Y2, Y4..., Y2N are maintained in succession thereto. As a result, the discharges of all the even number display lines may be maintained during the writing operation of the video information of all the odd number display lines. |
