A storing unit (420) stores a template database (422) having a plurality of templates in which first exemplary sentences expressed in a first language are associated with second exemplary sentences expressed in a second language.  Each of the first exemplary sentences has a first changeable part in which first candidate words can be replaced, while each of the second exemplary sentences has a second changeable part in which second candidate words, which are obtained by expressing the respective first candidate words in the second language, can be replaced.  A keyword selecting unit (442) designates, based on a first instruction, a first keyword from among a plurality of predetermined keywords.  An exemplary sentence selecting unit (444) extracts first exemplary sentences in which the first keyword can be replaced.  The exemplary sentence selecting unit (444) then displays, on a display unit (462), the first exemplary sentences, in which the first keyword has been replaced, such that the first exemplary sentences become selectable.  The exemplary sentence selecting unit (444) then selects, based on a second instruction, one of the first exemplary sentences displayed on the display unit.  A translation output unit (446) displays a second exemplary sentence, which is corresponding to the selected first exemplary sentence, on the display unit after putting a second candidate word, which is obtained by expressing the first keyword in the second language, into the second changeable part.
