The invention relates to a call bell/answering system which has been specially designed such that it can be used not only to call at a door, but also to transmit pre-recorded messages to a visitor and to enable the visitor to record a response or message. The inventive device consists of: an external module (1) which takes the form of a small, flat, compact body (2) comprising a call button (3), a record button (4) and the corresponding loudspeaker and microphone (5); and an internal module (6) with which the external module communicates by means of wire or wireless communication systems and which also takes the form of a small, flat, compact body (7) comprising an LCD-type touch screen (8) for managing and using the different message options and for controlling the software of said module, a USB port (9), a loudspeaker, a microphone and a bell (10).
