<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight assembly which can reduce a width of non-display region, and to provide a liquid crystal display device including the assembly. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight assembly is composed of a light source and a first mold which houses the light source and is in a shape of a window pane to form an open window, and an external surface of a sidewall of the first mold at least in one side section includes a reverse inclined face downward toward an internal side. As a result, a ratio of a size of a display region against a size of a whole of the liquid crystal display device increases relatively to make a width of the non-display region reduced and an image quality is improved for better satisfaction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
