PURPOSE: To improve the durability of photochromic action, moldability and the physical properties of a hardened body by using a photochromic hardenable compsn. having a specified compsn. CONSTITUTION: This photochromic hardenable compsn. contains 0.1-30 pts.wt. compd. having at least one epoxy group,in one molecule, 30-70 pts.wt. polypropyleneglycol di(meth)acrylate monomer represented by formula I, 20-60 pts.wt. polyethyleneglycol di(meth)acrylate monomer represented by formula II and 0-35 pts.wt. (meth)acrylate monomer and/or styrene monomer as polymerizable monomers and contains anα-methylstyrene dimer and a photochromic compd. by 0.1-2 pts.wt. and 0.001-10 pts.wt., respectively, per 100 pts.wt. of the polymerizable monomers. In the formula I, R<1> is H or methyl, (a+b) is an integer of 2-7 and each of (a) and (b) may be 0. In the formula II, R<1> is H or methyl and (c) is an integer of 2-0.
