<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup and an optical disk device, capable of improving reproduction characteristics even when a dimmer filter part is installed in the common optical path of an optical beam and a reflected light beam. <P>SOLUTION: The dimmer filter part 2C of the optical pickup 1 uses a difference in a polarizing direction between the light beam 40 of a P-polarized light and the reflected light beam 50 of an S-polarized light to guide the light beam 40 to an objective lens 20 by reducing the light amount of the light beam 40 comprising the P-polarized light to enter a diffraction element 13, and to guide the reflected beam 50 to a photodetector 22 by reducing almost no light amount of the reflected light beam 50 to enter a beam splitter 17. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
