PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid conflict of two systems of processing: processing of reducing consumption of toner that excessively converges at the ends of a printed image and existing image processing because both the two systems of processing change the intensity of individual pixels.SOLUTION: Contour correction is basically processing of compensating resolution, and a result of the processing always appears only at the ends of a drawing. Meanwhile, processing of reducing consumption of toner is processing to be performed on several tens of pixels inside from the ends of the drawing. Excess toner moves from a toner supply part arranged opposite to a non-print area of a photoreceptor drum, and a range of the toner is at most within a range of several tens of pixels from the ends of the print area. Thus, the two systems of processing can coexist when only contour pixels at the ends of the drawing that is to be subjected to the reduction processing is subjected to an existing processing system. A contour as a result of processing by the existing processing system is calculated, and a contour part is preferentially subjected to the existing processing.
