PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely seal and protect an insertion port of an optical module by using a sealing jig having an outer diameter approximately same as that of an optical fiber wire and a length enough to be inserted and drawn out with respect to the optical module insertion port. SOLUTION: An optical module insertion port sealing jig 14 (sealing jig) formed by a rod of hard vinyl chloride resin, is inserted into an insertion port 13 of an optical module which is not used for a while. A return part is formed inside of the optical module insertion port 13, and this return part is enlarged when the sealing jig 14 is inserted. The drawing-out operation of the sealing jig 14 is accompanied by resistance, and the sealing jig 14 which has been inserted once, is kept in a lightly locked state. The sealing jig 14 has an outer diameter approximately same as that of the optical fiber wire, and has a length enough to be inserted and drawn out with respect to the optical module insertion port 3, actually, it preferably has 2 mm diameter and 10-40 mm length.
