The invention improves the accuracy with which torque during startup is estimated, in a torque estimating device of a gas compressor. A torque estimating device (100) of a gas compressor (200) is provided with: a reference torque characteristic storage unit (20) which stores a reference torque characteristic, as a torque characteristic of the gas compressor (200) when the gas compressor (200) is performing a specific operation; a torque setting unit (10) which, on the basis of the reference torque characteristic stored in the reference torque characteristic storage unit (20), sets a torque corresponding to an input speed of rotation of the gas compressor (200), and the pressure of refrigerant discharged from the gas compressor (200); and a torque correcting unit which sets the torque at startup of the gas compressor (200), from among torques set by means of the torque setting unit (10), by correcting the torque set by the torque setting unit (10), in accordance with the speed of rotation and the elapsed time since startup. |
