The strip is used for joining material (11) which reinforces the outer plaster on a building, to the frame of a door or window. Parallel profile strips (33,34) extend from a body (31), and the reinforcing material is anchored between them. The profile strips have end webs which point towards one another, and which have a lateral spacing (w). The strips interface with the longitudinal slot of a C-shaped profile, and accommodate a narrow edge strip of the reinforcing material. The latter is anchored at least positively in the C-shaped profile, by a hardened synthetic material which is placed in the interior of the profile.
