PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel oil which can efficiently produce a monocyclic aromatic compound out of hydrocarbon compounds having 10-15 carbon atoms and a method for producing a fuel oil.SOLUTION: A method for producing a fuel oil produces a chemical product by cracking a raw material oil by fluid catalytic cracking reaction. A catalyst in the fluid catalytic cracking reaction is zeolite, and the raw material oil is organism-derived oils and fats predominantly composed of saturated fatty acid ester.SELECTED DRAWING: None
