PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency call system which can reduce power consumption without causing any trouble in speech communication by a speech communication means during power supply by a backup battery in an emergency. SOLUTION: The emergency call system 1 includes a means 2 for performing emergency call in the center in case of emergency of a vehicle, means 6, 7, 13 and 16 for performing speech communication with the center, and a means 8 for switching the power supply from a main power supply 18 to an auxiliary power supply 19, wherein the speech communication means 6, 7, 13, 16 and 17 include a voice output means 6 and a means 16 for driving the voice output means 6. The emergency call system 1 further includes a means 17 for limiting the current of the drive means 16 when the switching means 8 switches the power supply to the auxiliary power supply 19.
