There is a nozzle 2 for a sealant cartridge comprising an elongate tube (4 figure 1) of circular cross section having a principle axis (6-6 figure 1) coinciding with its length. The tube has an inlet end (10 figure 1) having attachment means (12 figure 2) configured to mate with a sealant cartridge (100 figure 7). At an outlet end (20 figure 1) remote from the inlet end there is an end face comprising an outlet 52, which when viewed perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to the principle axis has two sides equating to two sides (54, 54 figure 4) of an equilateral triangle with a third (56 figure 4) straight side or a third concave side. The end face is perpendicular to or angled at an angle greater than 30° to the principle axis. The purpose of the nozzle is to provide an optimised profile for extruded sealant, mastic or adhesive particularly when intended for use in sealing a perpendicular joint formed where sheets of material meet. The nozzle provides sealant in a form which coats the full joint including where sheets of material may join but also gives a concave profile without thin and friable edges and without leaving peripheral tracks of sealant and generally enabling a joint to be sealed with a relatively low surface area of sealant left exposed. |
