PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new di(meth)acrylate mixture. SOLUTION: The mixture of 1,4-cyclooctane di(meth)acrylate and 1,5-cyclooctane di(meth)acrylate is obtained by (1) hydroformylating 1,5-cyclooctadiene to give a mixture of 1,4-cyclooctane dicarboaldehyde and 1,5-cyclooctane dicarboaldehyde, then (2) reducing the obtained mixture of 1,4-cyclooctane dicarboaldehyde and 1,5-cyclooctane dicarboaldehyde to give a mixture of 1,4-cyclooctanedimethanol and 1,5-cyclooctanedimethanol and (3) (meth)acryloylating the obtained mixture of 1,4-cyclooctanedimethanol and 1,5-cyclooctanedimethanol.
