PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hanging type monitor device which can reduce a load being applied to the constituent parts of a tilt-driving mechanism resulting from the self weight of a monitor unit under a state in which the monitor unit is held at a desired tilting angle as much as possible. SOLUTION: This hanging type monitor device has a tilt-driving mechanism (60 to 63), and a monitor locking mechanism (30, 40a, 40b, 50a, 50b, 70 to 73). In this case, the tilt-driving mechanism is equipped with the monitor unit 10 which is housed under an approximately horizontal state while exposing the back surface in a housing section 100, and a driving source 60. Also, the tilt-driving mechanism makes the monitor unit 10 protrude from the housing section 100 by turning the monitor unit 10 with a specified tilting shaft 11 as the pivot by the driving force from the driving source 60. The monitor locking mechanism mechanically locks the motion of the monitor unit 10 which protrudes from the housing section 100, and also, releases the locking. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
