<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display which can exactly adjust changes in characteristics and chromaticity in spite of a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display having a liquid crystal display panel and a backlight, the light source of the backlight is a light emitting diode, and pixels for detection having the same configuration as the respective pixels are provided in regions other than a liquid crystal display part. Contrast is adjusted by raising or lowering light intensity of the light emitting diode according to a signal from a photodetector for detecting the light from the backlight through the pixels for detection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
