Compensating for externally induced swing by adjusting pressure as a function of pressure drop and impedance

Disclosed is a method of controller-automated control of pressure settings in a pressure delivery apparatus to compensate for externally induced swing at a patient interface. The method comprises: determining a measure of pressure generated by a flow generator with a pressure sensor, adjusting the measure of pressure, and controlling the flow generator so that the adjusted measure of pressure satisfies a target pressure setting. The pressure sensor is located proximate to the flow generator, and the adjusting is done as a function of: a measure of pressure drop across the flow generator; a measure of impedance of the patient interface coupled to the flow generator; and a measure of impedance of the flow generator.
