The external rotor motor has a stator and a rotor (13) that encloses the stator leaving an air gap and at least one damper (16) on the outside of the rotor that consists at least partly of an elastic material. The damper is in the form of a damping ring enclosing the rotor and made of a hybrid material, preferably metal-soft component-metal.
