<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which a sticking phenomenon on a paper discharge tray is prevented by cooling paper at an early stage by cooling the paper by blowing air to the paper in a conveying path, and also the air blowing to the paper in a conveying path affects the conveyability of the paper to thereby prevent turning up of the paper, folding of the paper, damage to the paper and jamming of the paper. <P>SOLUTION: When starting the conveyance of the paper, a sixth conveying path 44 is closed by turning a gate 73 upward to be set at a first position, a first conveying path 42 and a second conveying path 43 are communicated with each other, thus the paper which has passed a fixing unit 21 starts to be conveyed from the first conveying path 42 to the second conveying path 43. At the same time, air is exhausted by an air exhausting mechanism 53 which is arranged upstream of a cooling mechanism 76. Feeding of a prescribed amount of cooling air is started by starting the rotation of a cooling fan 77 at a prescribed rotational speed when a paper tip is detected by a first paper sensor 74. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
