CRYSTAL OSCILLATOR, ELECTRONIC COMPONENT AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING CRYSTAL OSCILLATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystal oscillator and a method of manufacturing the crystal oscillator in which the crystal oscillator can be easily folded away from a supporting part and at the same time, the excitation of an unwanted oscillation mode is prevented.

SOLUTION: A crystal oscillator comprises: a plate-like crystal piece having an upper face and a lower face which are approximately rectangular in a plane view; drive electrodes constituted of conductive materials disposed on the upper face and the lower face of the crystal piece; and mounting electrodes provided on the upper face and the lower face and electrically connected to the drive electrodes. In the crystal oscillator, a side surface of a first shorter side of the upper face or the lower face is formed in a shape of a gable constituted of a first slope and a second slope. A side surface of a second shorter side positioned oppositely to one shorter side has a slope approximately in parallel with at least one of the slopes of the side surface of the first shorter side.
