<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and efficiently input special characters and signs according to languages without a need to change the keyboard configuration in an electronic dictionary device which includes a key input section and a handwriting input section for inputting retrieval characters. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic dictionary device includes a display section, the key input section, and the handwriting input section in which a touch position detection device and a display are integrally constituted. The device inputs as retrieval characters the character input by the key input section and the character input by the handwriting input section so that the display for inputting characters not existing in the key input section is changed according to the type of a dictionary in use and displayed on the handwriting section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
