PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving picture coding and decoding system which allows for continuous decoding and display processing, without changing the parameters in the header of an original coded moving picture data, when coupling two moving picture data.SOLUTION: Even when one or more pictures following to the beginning coded picture are removed, with regard to the beginning coded picture being coupled to other coded moving picture data, out of the pictures included in the moving picture data, the moving picture encoder 1 of moving picture encoding system adds the correction information of decoding delay and display delay, for allowing a moving picture decoder 2 to continuously decode and display the pictures subsequent to the beginning coded picture, to the coded moving picture data. The correction information is calculated based on the decoding interval from the picture just before each removed picture. The moving picture decoder 2 corrects the decoding delay and display delay of the pictures subsequent to the beginning coded picture, by using the correction information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
