PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device capable of prolonging the life of a device as a whole, which can be effectively manufactured. SOLUTION: Although a plurality of pixels 100 of an organic EL device 1 correspond to red color (R), green color (G), and blue color (B) respectively, material qualities of organic function layers constituting an organic EL element 10 such as a hole injection layer 13 and a light emitting layer 14 are identical regardless of corresponding colors. An optical resonator is constituted on respective pixels 100, and optical wave length of the resonator 40 is set to a wave length corresponding to either red color, green color, or blue color, depending on the thickness of the light emitting layer 14 included in the organic function layer.
