PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a vehicle from colliding with a following vehicle when starting the vehicle at an up-hill road. SOLUTION: A system has a rear monitoring unit for monitoring the rear of the own vehicle, an up-hill road determination processing means for determining whether or not the own vehicle is present on the up-hill road, and a warning processing means for giving a warning to a driver based on a monitoring result by the rear monitoring unit and a determination result by the up-hill road determination processing means. It is determined whether the own vehicle is present on the up-hill road or not, and the warning is given to the driver based on the monitoring result by the rear monitoring unit, so that the own vehicle can be prevented from colliding with the following vehicle when the own vehicle is started on the up-hill road.
