<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic key system which can more easily find out a portable machine that is a searching target. <P>SOLUTION: When unlocking operation is carried out in a vehicle, an in-vehicle device carries out cabin interior verification for checking whether the portable machine is present in the vehicle (S101). During the cabin interior verification, when a response from the portable machine is received (S101:YES), the in-vehicle device subsequently transmits a searching signal to the portable machine (S105) to inhibit the locking of the vehicle, and sounds a buzzer (S107). Therefore the confinement of the portable machine can be prevented. Further when the searching signal is transmitted by the processing of the step S105, the portable machine which has received the searching signal sounds a buzzer thereof, and by relying on a buzzer sound emitted from the portable machine, the location where the portable machine exists can be searched for. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
