PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance accuracy of determination on a failed section that causes picture quality abnormality in an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: An image reading part 11 reads an output image (or an intermediate image) by an image forming apparatus; an image defect characteristic amount detecting part 12 detects a characteristic amount of an image defect in the read image on the basis of electronic data of the read image; and an image defect time-series storage part 13 stores the characteristic amount of the detected image defect as a time-series data. In response to an instruction of determining a failure section, an image defect time-series characteristic determining part 14 determines a time-series characteristic of the image defect on the basis of the time-series data of the characteristic amount of the image defect; an image forming apparatus condition information collecting part 15 collects apparatus condition information from the image forming apparatus; a failure section determining part 16 determines a failure section on the basis of the characteristic amount of the image defect, the time-series characteristic and the apparatus condition information; and a failure diagnosis information notifying part 17 notifies the result of the failure section determination. |
