An image reading apparatus, an image forming apparatus and an image reading method are provided to generate image data indicative of an image in which a bit noise is corrected. The first signal generation part generates the first signal that becomes to an assert state at a predetermined period. The second signal generation part generates the second signal that becomes the assert state at a period synchronized with a modulation period of a frequency dispersion clock. A line scanning part moves a scanning position on an original document image to a subordinate scanning direction. The line scanning part scans the original document image to a main scanning direction, vertical to the subordinate scanning direction, whenever all of the first and second signals become the assert state and thereby reads the original document image and outputs an analog image signal.
