摘要 In an apparatus on a carding machine for grinding a fibre processing clothing on a roller or a card flat, grinding equipment includes at least one grinding element 24 and a feeding-in device to position the grinding element 24 against the clothing 14a. A structure-borne noise sensor 27 is associated with the grinding equipment and an electronic evaluator is provided and is capable of determining from the structure-borne noise the intensity of the contact between the at least one grinding element 24 and the clothing. The sensor preferably has a sensitivity of 10V/N to 50V/N, is piezo-ceramic, is capable of measuring vibrations between 2.5kHz and 12.5 /kHz and is in touching contact with the grinding equipment. The noise sensor may alternatively be contactless. The evaluator filters out low-frequencies with a high-pass filter and has a frequency and /or statistical analysis function. The noise sensor may be portable. An acceleration sensor may also be provided. The grinding element may traverse or oscillate and may be a full grinding cylinder, a grinding wheel or a plurality of grinding stones. Grinding may be carried out under normal production.
