PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element which can illuminate with high brightness at low voltage. SOLUTION: An organic compound layer 20 is arranged between the first electrode 12 and the second electrode 18, and the layer 20 has a hole carrying luminous layer 22 including an organic compound shown by the formula (1), (in the formula (1); R1-R4 are substituents, [A] is an alternative of either (1) composition of more than two carbon atoms, (2) a combined composition of one or more of carbon atom and requested substituent or the atom other than carbon, or (3) composition of two biphenyl derivatives bound at plural points without interposing atom.) and an electron transfer layer 24 including an organic compound shown by the formula (2), (in the formula (2); Ar1, Ar2, and Ar3 are aryl group or aromatic heterocycle group, X1, X2 and X3 are substituents, n1, n2 and n3 are integer of 0-3.). For the hole transferable luminous layer 22, a prescribed doping material may be doped in a host material like the material shown by the formula (1).
