The present invention relates to a mobile terminal and a method for controlling the same, capable of quickly searching for a desired message by chatting joiner in an operation screen of a mobile messenger application. According to the present invention, the method comprises the following steps: displaying an operation screen including a chatting window and a message input window in a display unit; displaying the message blocks and converting the message input window into a message search window when a predetermined user input is received through the display unit, dividing the chatting window into message blocks; and searching for a message including the search term by message block when a search term is inputted through the message search window. |
