In the present invention, a control system includes a plurality of programmable controllers and an engineering tool. The programmable controllers include: a storage unit for storing allocated parameters; an identification information read-out unit for creating, on the basis of the parameters, identification information that uniquely identifies the programmable controllers; a display unit for displaying characters or images; and an identification information display unit for causing the identification information content to be displayed on the display unit. The engineering tool includes a read-in unit for reading the identification information content displayed on the display unit, a recognition unit for acquiring the identification information on the basis of the read-in identification information content, and a setting unit for causing a programmable controller uniquely identified by the identification information to be set as a communication destination on the basis of the acquired identification information. |
