The present invention describes a communication terminal for establishing GPRS links by a commercial cell network, which also has a user interface. The inventive terminal may establish a serial communication of the RS232 type and short-distance wireless digital links. A safety system using keyboards and electronic key codes is also provided. The terminal may also be used in any application where a remote communication link is required for wirelessly controlling or transferring data to other devices within the area where it is located, the terminal being also able to communicate with devices having a communication of the RS232 type and which may interact with the user.
