Automobile engine idling control - has by=pass valve across throttle flap regulated by engine temp. and revolutions

The idling control has a throttle flap (2) positioned in the air intake to the carburettor associated with a bypass line including a bypass valve (8) which is controlled in dependence on the engine operating conditions. The operating element (19) of the bypass valve (8) separates a bypass chamber from a control chamber, the former supplied with the intake pressure upstream of the throttle flap (2) and the latter supplied with a control pressure. Pref. the control chamber of the bypass valve (8) is connected via respective electromagnetic control valves (34,35) to the intake pipe section (16) upstream of the throttle flap (2) and to the intake pipe section (18) downstream of the throttle flap (2). The control valves (34,35) receive energising pulses allowing them to open from an electronic control unit (36) monitoring the engine temp. and revolutions.
